The City of Sydney is progressively replacing cracked tree surrounds with Porous Lane permeable pavement. This sustainable solution provides resilience against tree root movement while maintaining a clean, safe, and durable surface. With a high rate of water infiltration, Porous Lane supports healthier urban trees and reduces stormwater runoff.

Goals

To upgrade existing tree surrounds with a product that:

  • Reuses waste tyres in a practical, sustainable way
