The Material

Made with the highest accredited food-safe polyethylene in New Zealand and manufactured to the Australian and New Zealand water tank standard AS/NZS 4766.

SLIM CITY tanks enable homeowners to have water when they need it and reduce your reliance on Council supplied water. by collecting your own in a SLIM CITY tank.

With flat sides and a slim profile these tanks fit well in any city or suburb where your design requires 2 or 3,000 litres for detention or re-use. 

The 2,000 is only 510mm deep (should leave room for a bin to pass) or 750mm for the 3,000, so it has a low footprint. With its compact design and range of colours it will blend seamlessly into a property without being an eyesore.

  • As a retrofit installation for garden watering, the tank is within the ability of a home handy person. 

    For new builds or connections to plumbing, or consented work any qualified plumber or drain layer.

    The Watersmart team, can complete the full supply & installation for any quantity.

    Any keen DIYer (with the correct tools) can install Slim City Tanks when the water collected is only intended for outdoor use.

    Slim City Tanks must be installed by a registered plumber, such as a Watersmart technician, if the water will be used inside the home, (such as in the toilet and laundry). Contact us to find

  • The SLIM CITY tanks come with a 10-year warranty.

  • The tanks are made in New Zealand with the highest accredited food-safe, UV resistant polyethylene. They are moulded in one piece and designed to ensure that stresses are contained within the patented ribbed walls and domed construction.

  • Manufactured to the Australian and New Zealand water tank standard AS/NZS 4766:2020 and are independently certified by a professional engineer. Download specifications here.

  • Depending on what your the tank will be used for you can install your tank it at the most convenient location for its use.  The base the tank sits on is important and must be flat with a bed of compacted Gap 7 or a flat concrete pad. sand xx thick.

    If you are laying a concrete base for your the tank to sit on, the minimum depth should be 100mm, ensuring the sub-base is compacted prior to pouring the concrete. For Installation specifications click here.

  • The 25mm BSP brass outlet can either fit a tap, for gravity feeding a watering can, bucket or drip hose, or for better flexibility and range of use we recommend connecting to a pump.
